Duckie

once upon a time when the bath was new
i met little duck with yellow bill and eyes of blue
she was the prettiest id ever seen,
but when i learned to reach she’d swim away from me

and as i grew, she became quite small
so that i thought shed not be hard to get at all,
but the more i needed soap the slipperyer she seemed
(ahhh)
and she became the rubber duckie of my dreams,

duckie i want you under my tongue
i want your rubber fuzz between my opposable thumbs
duckie you know i wanna see the day
when you and i will swim away

and then the day when the rules all changed
mama in the shower and im sittin in the spray
she handed me the duck to keep me company
then and there my ducky dear revealed herself to me
(woah-ah-ah)
duckie ive got you under my thumb
now i took you from the tub
and there’s the rub (im not so dumb)
ducky its hard to see your charms
now that ii know youre vinyly armed

she was not fuzzy(rubber), or slippery
and when i squeazed her, she squeaked and squirt all over me (iieew)
don’t know how it happened but i startled and felt sick
and i dropped what once was slick away from me
o get that duckie that far away (from me)

now when i bathe, i kinda feel sad
about the way it went, in fact I’m kind of mad
if she’d just turned to me and told me how it was
i wouldnt have chased her and that pthalate laiden vinyl fuzz

ducky I’ve had you under my tongue
i held your vinyl fuzz between my opposable thumbs
well ducky i thought id never see the day

The Boy in the Tree

There was a boy up in a tree
He shouted down “Hey look at me-
Look at me! I’m way up in a tree”

I can see the moon from here
The stars are bright, the air is clear
I can see the moon from way up here

“COME DOWN, COME DOWN,” his mother said
“COME DOWN, COME DOWN, IT’S TIME FOR BED”
But the boy was so happy in the tree

He saw the crescent moon right there
And put his hands up in the air
The crescent moon was hanging just right there

He grabbed onto the pointy edge
Pulled himself up onto the ledge
The boy was on the edge of the moon

“COME DOWN, COME DOWN,” his mother said
“COME DOWN, COME DOWN, IT’S TIME FOR BED”
But the boy was so happy on the moon

Now the mother didn’t know what to do
She raised her voice up to the moon
“Moon, won’t you bring me back my boy?”

The moon it made a rope of stars
The boy climbed down oh so far
The boy was climbing down the rope of stars

“I’M DOWN, I’M DOWN” the boy he said
“I’M DOWN, I’M DOWN, JUST IN TIME FOR BED”
And the boy was so happy in his mother’s arms

The boy climbed into bed
“Goodnight my child,” his mother said
The boy was tucked safely into bed

Out the window he could see
The moon, the stars, and the great big tree
He said, “I’ll be back tomorrow night so wait for me”
